Ideal ski accommodation in Tignes

Split into 5 villages, Les Brevières, Les Boisses, Le Lavachet, Tignes le Lac and Val Claret, Tignes has it all! Ski, snow, chalets, apartments, hotels, fun activities and a great après-ski scene! Being part of the Tignes-Val d’Isère ski area, you have access to over 300 kilometres of high-end ski slopes.

A popular resort with the British market, Tignes is a purpose-built resort meaning a lot of the accommodation offers easy access to the slopes. Families, friends, young and old, there is something for you all in Tignes.

Our accommodation

We have a great selection of Tignes accommodation that cover all wants, needs and budgets! Between Val Claret at 2300 metres, Tignes Le Lac at 2100 metres to Les Brevières at 1550 metres, you’ll find self-catered ski-in/ ski-out apartments, fully catered luxury chalets and excellent hotels with the most incredible views of the famous Tignes lake.

Tignes may not be seen as the ‘prettiest’ of resorts, but depending on where you are staying you can experience that quaint, traditional mountain village. When holidaying here the beauty of the surrounding landscapes can shape any rough diamond into a sparkling jewel.

The ski area

Tignes is a great snowsure resort with the majority of the ski area being above 2000 metres. You’ll find plenty of large, wide-open slopes, perfect for anyone comfortable on blue and reds. Dropping down towards Les Boisses and Les Brevières you’ll also get to explore their hidden forest.

Tignes offers fantastic glacial skiing on La Grande Motte (3656 metres) too where, depending on the snow conditions, you can even ski in the summer months. Overall though, during the winter 57% of the slopes are classified as easy (eg green and blue runs), 26% as intermediate (red) and 17% as difficult (black).

Some say Tignes is a better resort for intermediate or above skiers, and its neighbouring resort Val d’Isère offers more ski slope variety for beginners. However in our eyes, once you’ve learnt the basics with your instructor, you can explore the mountain easily and build confidence quickly on amazing runs.

Did you know? Tignes has a great freestyle history starting in 1992 when it hosted the Albertville Winter Olympics ski ballet, freestyle skiing and moguls. They continue to be leaders in this area and have a selection of fun freestyle zones with the Easy Park, a boarder-cross and a half-pipe created in 2010 for the Winter X Games.
