Located at 2300 metres, Val Thorens is the highest village and ski area in Europe! Apart from the magnificent ski domain, Val Thorens is a very cosmopolitan resort and offers plenty of diverse and fun activities in all forms.
The village
Val Thorens is a single large village at the top of the mountain. It is well known for its lively après-ski scene and variety of accommodation, ranging from basic to luxurious. It's a fully international ski resort catering to everyone too.
The ski area
There are 150 km of slopes in Val Thorens, including 31 ski lifts and 88 slopes. This is another one of the ski resorts that makes up the massive Three Valleys ski area, you can ski 100s of kilometres a day. In fact, there are over 600 km of slopes to explore within the 3 Valleys, including Brides-Les-Bains, Courchevel, Méribel, Les Ménuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Orelle.
Throughout the Val Thorens ski area, you’ll find fun zones perfect for the freestylers or younger members of the family, such as the snowpark, a ski cross and a fun slope.
If you wish to learn or improve in skiing or snowboarding, then Oxygène Ski School can help by providing group or private lessons for all ages and all levels. At Oxygène, group lessons are limited in numbers helping create a better learning environment and more personalised experience. Our instructors are here to help you discover the very best of Val Thorens in a fun and friendly environment.
There is also an Oxygène Adaptive ski programme that has been in Val Thorens for a number of years now. The aim is to make skiing accessible to everyone. Thanks to a comfortable seat piloted by a trained and experienced Oxygène instructor, anyone can discover the beauty of skiing.

Val Thorens defines itself as a cosmopolitan resort, offering a unique and dynamic local life. After a day on the slopes, there are plenty of fun things to do. Head along to the aquatic centre, it has been completely renovated. Or why not enjoy an evening with friends or family bowling or at the Laser Game.
When it comes to food, Val Thorens will delight everyone both on and off the slopes. In the main village, there are many restaurants where you can eat everything from Savoyard specialities, burgers, pizza to Thai… Moreover, for fans of fun and lively atmospheres, head to the altitude chalets and party on the pistes with the concept ‘100% made in Savoie’.
