Ideal ski accommodation in Val Thorens

Being part of the largest ski area in the world, Val Thorens is one-third of the famous Three Valleys. Known as a lively resort, it is popular with a lot of young people. It also has the longest ski season in France due to its high altitude. It is a 100% snow-sure ski resort and a pure skiers (or snowboarders) paradise. Accommodation is often ski-in/ski-out thanks to it being a purpose-built ski resort. However, this ‘purpose-built’ status does not take anything away from its respectability. With OSC you can expect high-end accommodation with a top-notch service to follow.

The ski area

With over 80 ski slopes and 28 lifts, Val Thorens offers 150 kilometres of on-piste skiing. There are also a number of fantastic off-piste routes (which you should always do with a guide) including the Pierre Lory and Lac du Lou.

However what makes this resort an ideal skier's heaven is the fact it opens up to a massive 450 kilometres more. With its adjoining Three Valley resorts; Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Les Menuires and Orelle, there are a total of 6 glaciers to be explored.

Val Thorens is a wonderful resort for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. There’s plenty of choice with 13% of runs being classified green and ideal for beginners, 45% blue and perfect for intermediates, 34% red and great for the more advanced, and 8% for experts or those comfortable on blacks.

Did you know? Due to its altitude, Val Thorens is always the first French ski resort to open, normally in mid-November, and the last one to close at the beginning of May.
