The Village

La Rosière is a charming mountain village, created in the 1960s. It is technically a purpose-built resort but has been designed cleverly with no high-rise buildings and instead beautiful traditional Alpine wooden chalets with exposed stone.

Its pedestrianised and offers a wonderful, easy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for families. There are plenty of cosy restaurants and bars too, offering something for everyone.

To get around, there is a free shuttle bus that runs regularly during the season to the different parts of La Rosière including Les Eucherts, LAverne, Le Gollet, Centre and the Maison du Ski (lift pass office).

The Ski Area

Part of the Espace San Bernardo ski area, La Rosière offers over 150km of pistes. Connected to the Italian ski resort La Thuile, you can add an additional 80 km of slopes to your itinerary too.

There's a variety of beginner to advanced ski or snowboard slopes, making this a great resort for many. Youll also find some wonderful off-piste tracks for those more experienced skiers or snowboarders (always go with a professional guide), a snowpark ideal for freestylers and a boardercross for those wanting to test their skills.

Due to being located near the Petit St Bernard Pass, the high-altitude road that links France and Italy together, La Rosière is also a great place for speed riding due to its wind. And whats even better is that heli-skiing on the Italian side is also more accessible here (for information, heli-skiing is not allowed in France).

Local Life and Activities

La Rosière has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. The village also has a weekly market where visitors can buy local produce and crafts.

For those who want to relax and unwind, there is a spa in the village offering a range of treatments and massages. Additionally, the resort has a cinema, a bowling alley, and an ice rink.

One of our favourite family fun adventures in La Rosière is the X-treme sledge run, a roller-coaster-like ride (please note children must be a minimum of 95cm).

In the Summer

La Rosière is not just a popular winter destination, it also has plenty to offer in the summer months too. The resort is a popular destination for hikers with beautiful trails and paths in all directions. There's also a mountain bike park, a golf course and a climbing wall. For those who enjoy more relaxed activities, there are several lakes in the area for swimming and fishing.
