A holiday for two is very often synonymous with 'romantic' to which we think about lots of love hearts and feeding each other marshmallows… Yes, that could be it, but for all those who do not find themselves in this stereotype, I would like to propose something else... a holiday as a couple, that has nothing to do with a marriage or romantic proposals but instead living an experience together to disconnect from everyday life. And why not, at the same time, try something different?
In all cases, you need accommodation and this is one of the main ingredients for a successful holiday! Whatever your taste in terms of decoration, or your expectation as to its location, your hotel or apartment must provide you with the privacy and comfort necessary for a real moment of relaxation! Fantastic news, you're in with the right people here. We have pre-selected the best accommodation perfect for 2. But, of course, you will not stay in your room throughout your whole stay, will you? (Well maybe!)
Our mountains are full of fun activities and experiences to enjoy, and we know you will have many unforgettable moments! Whether you are an adrenaline seeker, like good food, prefer relaxation and meditation, or fancy a full-on party session until the next morning... you will love the selection of activities on offer with OSC.
Here's a little sample of my favourites (and personal must-dos!), but be warned, if you read on, you might want to book your holiday straight away:
- Zipline for 2: If you want an adrenaline kick, then Serre Chevalier offers a giant zipline which you can do together! The challenge, if you choose to accept... Jump off the top of the starting tower at the same time, each of you on your own line and see who arrives first! Guaranteed thrills are included in this one, that's for sure.
- A snowshoe tour: If you have never tried it, it is a must! Enjoy a guided snowshoe hike and find yourself in the heart of nature, in the most picturesque surroundings. What's great is it's up to you to set your pace. This outing can be relaxed or sporty, and in any case, it will make you feel alive and free! Take your own guide and be as romantic (or un-romantic) as you like.
- A Savoyard fondue: For a remake of the winter version of Lady and the Tramp, we suggest you have a Savoyard fondue for 2! Almost all the restaurants offer it, but nothing beats the Grands crus de fondues restaurant at the Hotel Le M de Megeve... An experience in its own right! They revisit this local classic in a gastronomic way. Be careful not to lose your crouton (bread)... it's your partner who will decide your dare!
- A moonlight outing: Toast your holiday together with your head a little closer to the stars! This is an atypical experience, that you can not get anywhere else! After the ski lifts shut, you'll make your way up the mountain (depending on the resort) either with your skis, ski touring or on snowshoes. At the top, you'll enjoy a beautiful sunset before you head back down under the light of the moon (and with a headtorch if you prefer).
- A duo massage: A couples massage has been proven to build relationships. We do understand that a massage is not for everyone though. For those who are not really into massages, this is a great way to have some fun, relax and enjoy the company of your friend. Everyone has their own table and the treatments can be different. - An Oxygène Moonbike ride: Take a trip in the snow on your very own Moonbike, a 100% electric snowmobile. It's quiet, it's fun, it's different and it's eco-friendly. Discover the ski area like never before…
