Presentation
Whitewater rafting is great, especially with friends and family members. Jump inside an inflatable boat, grab a paddle and create unforgettable memories during your holiday in the French Alps.
To take part in any rafting activity you must be able to swim, not be afraid of water and be ready to get wet!
There are several options you can choose between. From beginners to the more experienced, families with children, teenagers or groups of adults. There really is something for everyone!
Beginning where its name comes from, the Isère sources starts at the Isère glacier in the Vanoise National Park, a park that has been protected since 1963. The river ends 286 km further where it joins the Rhône river near Valence at ‘the door to the South of France’.
From Bourg Saint Maurice to Moutiers, the river rapids are classified between a II and a III in certain sections and then a IV in others. The Isère offers plenty of variety and is the perfect playground for watersport enthusiasts.
Please be aware that departure times are adapted to the water level. The water flow is regulated on the Isère via releasing water from the Tignes Dam, also known as the Chevril Dam. This is all planned, allowing guaranteed conditions throughout the rafting season.
The H2O base
The water sports base H2O welcomes you to experience whitewater rapids with them. At their base, you will find all the facilities needed, including changing rooms, bathrooms and showers. Conscious of the environment, all wetsuits are washed with eco-friendly products after each session. There are two large car parks and a cycle path that follows along the river. You can also enjoy delicious home-cooked meals in the "Petit Resto" restaurant right next to the river.
