Chalet or apartment: what's best for your ski holiday? 


Choosing between a chalet and an apartment depends on several factors, including your personal preferences, budget, and intended use.   • Space and Comfort: Chalets are generally more spacious, which is ideal for large groups or families. They can offer additional amenities like fireplaces, hot tubs, or saunas. In a chalet, there is no risk of running into your neighbors at the ski lockers or disturbing other guests during long evenings by the fire. However, apartments in residences have a major advantage over chalets: proximity.
  • Proximity: Apartments in ski complexes are often located closer to the slopes, lifts, and amenities, making access easier. Chalets are usually farther from the slopes or amenities, requiring additional travel. Many apartment complexes offer extra services like ski lockers, pools, gyms, and restaurants.
  • Costs: Apartments can be more affordable, especially for small groups or couples. If you are a large family or a group of friends, a chalet might be a good option.   • How many people will be staying in the rental during your stay? A large group or a big family will probably be more comfortable in a chalet, while an apartment may be better suited for a couple or a family with two children.
     
  • What is your budget? Apartments are often cheaper, but chalets can offer better value for large groups. However, depending on the residences and apartments, we can offer rentals with high-quality amenities (wellness areas, restaurants, bed linens, beds made on arrival, parking, etc.).
     
  • Do you prefer to be close to the slopes and amenities? Apartments are often more convenient for direct access to the slopes and resort facilities. Chalets are usually more remote from the heart of the resort and require a bit of walking to reach amenities.
     
  • What type of experience are you looking for? A chalet offers a more intimate and authentic experience, while an apartment can be more functional and practical.
